Cairn is the smallest possible journal. Each morning you choose one word for the day. Each evening you write one sentence about it. Over a year, 365 words become the story of your year.
It lives on your iPhone and Apple Watch, with widgets to keep today's word in view. Everything stays private — stored on your device and in your own iCloud. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking.
Cairn is finished and still on the App Store, but it isn't in active development. I wrote up what I learned building it, including why I stopped using it myself.
